On the last wheeling trip my winch once
again failed me Mad
So I am think i may buy a new one in the
spring, I have been looking , and thinking
one of these four:

Warn m8000 - low end of cost but still a 8000 lbs

Warn 9500 xp - slow with no load but is warns
fastest and longest duty cycle(loaded line pull)

Warn 9500 ti. - fastest free line speed. And driver warning for over heating

Warn 8250 - fast and everyone I have seen work well

I am kinda leaning towards the 9500 xp just to try a different unit then everyone else already has .....

(still got to price out units )

Any input ???????

YOU HARDLY EVER NEED WINCHING ... I DO !

9.5ti is the BEST ( short of an 8274 !!!!) as I can tell by the info of speed and pullby wrap, amps used of all ... but the new ones from Australia ... King One ( www.chandaauto.ca) seem almost as quick. 9500lber weighs 110 lbs !

See can4x4's latest magazine ( I have it if you want to see)

GO with the Warn ... distributor will come to your HOUSE to fix it ( if you have beer ).

Don't get rid of the TITAN ... I gave mine to Bud ... he'll need replacement parts ( and Adam )... or use it as an anchor.

Don't know much about WARN other than a few old ones I've seen. they worked good, but have no idea what they were.
Just make sure you stay away from WARN's Tabor 9000. Know 2 guys with them. Both have the same problem. They're JUNK.

P.S. I'd buy a WARN... but they are to far above my pay grade. lol

yeah and even stay away from that cheaper superwinch line that Bushy got ahold of....no better than the old costco winches I went through by the looks of them and what I've seen....
Get a REAL SuperWinch or REAL Warn....cause man when you need it you need it....nuff said...I learned my lesson....
But in a slight defence of the "Titan " winches....the ones you bought where from that bulk deal way back when that buddy almost fawked everyone over on...and Duncan saved the day on that one....he does still sell the line of Titan winches but they are nothing like the one you have....I haven't heard to many bad things from guys on JeepKings about them and Duncan does stand behind the stuff....that being said...still not Warn or SuperWinch

i am prob going to get the 9500 ti , or the cti? looked on warn site, only seen the cti listed or maybe i missed it, but i like the way bads ti always works!!!!! i just measured the front of the jeep and the 8274 is too tall it would block the whole rad opening, and i would have to change the push bar to make it fit.

also noticed that there is a big difference in amp draw between the units!!
maybe i will have a shiny black 9500ti on jeep in spring lol...

9.5 ti suits the carlike look of the TJ.
{paint it YELLOW ... be different)

As for my Cheap Superwinch ...would be abolutely fine if water ( RAIN !)didn't leak into it ... like owning a Jeep with carpets, you hit a stinky mud hole ... hmm ... guess the floor is rusted thru.

I sprayed yhe Superwinch motor ( and floor of Seized Nuts with Hippo liner) with undercoating AND drilled a drain hole with plug and have a cover on it.....will work fine now. Used it this week to pull a tree out of the lawn. I know it and the bumper were ok ... was worried about the rest of the Jeep.

Both Lowrad's and Iron Pig's Superwinches worked fine > abused, never maintained ... bow sorry but true
. Slower than the 9.5ti by a lot ( according to 4WD comparisons) ( Don't shoot the messanger Lowrad)

But then there is the name.
Warn .... a guys name
Superwinch ... it is what it is
Titan ... short for Titanic
Ramsey ... need I say more
