Frame is '79 so has High Pinion Dana 44 solid front axle and 9inch rear, plus the drivetrain was in great running order and it was cheap, found it in the parking lot at work lol. Plus it was just faster then swapping axles, motor, tranny etc.
Started on it at 5pm on a friday and drove it to work the following tuesday (had to wait a day for new master cylinder from parts store)

COOL!
Definately a better axle choice. And ya, a little less work.

What did you do with the old one. I'm still lookin for one for mine.

Well the truck has been sitting at working all winter, didnt want the salt to rust it even more then it already is. Getting my taxes done tomorrow and as soon as I get my return it will be getting a new box, tires and wheels.
Decided to go with 35x12.50 Dunlop Mud Rovers with 15x10 Bart ProStock race car wheels. I wanted steel wheels and the only way I could get the 2inches of back spacing i wanted was to get the race wheels.
Used to have a set of Mud Rovers on my Suzuki so I know they work great. Plus even brand new they are less then $200 a tire.
Found a good used box in town thats the same color so throw that on, new tires and wheels and its back out causing havoc again!

Went to the Stirling flea market last weekend and picked myself up a Holley Street Dominator Single Plane intake, sweet deal. Gaskets will be in this week to swap it over to 4 barrel. Picked up the Bronco that Im parting out, keeping the plush bucket seats and console. Upgrading to tilt steering, lots of other goodness. Its finally starting to be a good looking and riding truck lol.
