I have been Searching, asking and pulling my hare out lol Trying to Find
out If 4 Wheelers are allowed on the Trails in Winter..

WELL.. heres the Scoop...

Eastern Ontario Trail Alliance has come out with a new Permit called
the TTN Gold Trail Permit.. ( Trillium Trail Network )

http://www.ontariotrails.on.ca/about-the-otc/trillium-trail-network/ttntrailpermit/

check out that link..

Trails that are affected under the permit:

* Hastings Heritage Trail
* Millenium Trail
* Trail of Two Lakes
* Limerick Lake Trail
* C.P. Line Trail
* North Frontenac Trails
* OFSC E106
* OFSC E212
* OFSC E109
* Skootamata Trail - Flinto Road to OFSC E Trunk Intersection
* Renfrew to Calabogie ATV Trail
* Arda Trail
* Tommy's Lake Trail
* Birch Lake Trail
* Swordfingal Trail
* V.I. Trail
* OFSC E105 Trail
* Check with OFATV Clubs for local trails

The Hastings Heritage Trail is a four-seasons,
multi-use recreational trail that follows an old railway line linking Hastings County.
The Trail is open year-round and boasts a number of parking lots and access points along the route.

It welcomes hikers, cyclists, horseback riders, and recreational vehicle operators.
Trails in Hastings County consist of a 156-km ribbon of land stretching from Glen Ross to Lake St. Peter,
connecting them to the waterways of the Trent Canal System in the south and the edge of Algonquin Park in the north.

SO... I picked up The EOTA Recreational Trail Map Today.. to find out where the Multi Use Trails are ....
THERE ARE LOTS!! just need to find if they are 4 Season trails. like the Hastings Herratage Trail..

NOW.. The TTN Gold Trail Permit For ATV for the year is $ 140,

Trail Pass Fees are HERE..

http://www.thetrail.ca/ scroll down..

So.. for $ 140 each Hummy, DangerDale and Myself are KOOL to ride
all year!! Leagally!! on the trails covered.. We can freely use the H.H.T. tracks all winter and summer NO CRAP !

Passes are available at DeerHaven and Belleville Sport and Lawn..

THIS PASS DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO GO ON ANY TRAILS MARKED
ONLY O.F.S.C.
It is only for the Eastern Ontario Trails Alliance Which are LOTS!

www.thetrail.ca/overview.pdf

Here you will See the Rules of The trail.. They will be posted on every trail Maintained by the EOTA.

So Get Your Pass.. It will be worth it in the long run.. mhihi mhihi

Ya ,,, Ok so I do some of those trails twice if ever... $70 a run extra or more...??????

"WE" have ventured out into "trails" 2x this year ( Dale's spring Run & our Whitefish Run which frequire no fees at the time)
... so why ???? When the snow gets deep ... no one will be going anyway, when it gets cold , no one wants to go period.

Will this save you the cost of using the Quinn Trails near Calabogie ... a saving of ... what $14? What times of the year does this apply?
Give me the Logic ...

The EOTA Trail pass monies go toward all kinds of stuff.. More and More Trails will be added in time.

I can see in the Not Too Far Future most Private land will BE CLOSED.
and Policing of Permits Will Increase.

Just being able to jump on the tracks and run to Carnage Trail without getting a fine is worth
the $ 11.66 per month. Even in SUMMER You Legaly Need a Permit to Ride these Trails..

You mentioned Dales Tour.. WELL a good portion of that Trail is EOTA.

Lingham Lake Trail AND the Power Line are NOT part of this Trail System.. YET.

bd bd

AND....

Did you Know...

NO ONE IS ALLOWED ON O.F.S.C TRAILS.. EXCEPT PERMIT HOLDING SLED DRIVERS WHEN THE TRAILS ARE OPEN...

AT ANY TIME OF THE YEAR........ ANY TIME OF THE YEAR...

DEFINATLY NOT OFF ROAD TRUCKS OR EVEN 4 WHEELERS.
EOTA is working with OFSC to help maintain and allow use of these trails in the summer by 4 Wheelers Etc..

You can and will be fined if caught on any OFSC Trail ANYTIME of the YEAR.. thier Trails are ONLY FOR THEM..

OFSC has many trails in Whitefish, Lingham ect area's. the only way to Legaly use these in the future..
would be with the help of the EOTA..

So Save your $ 140.. for when you get caught.. mhihi

Hmm ... I agree ... MAYBE in the future you will need a permit in those areas ... but not for a while ... I can assure you.

Quinn yes ... they patrol it ... on a rare occasion ... but the others ... like paying for parking on the airport strip

Thanks bunnyboy for the pass........

Not getting check on the runs to carnage was a fluke IMO. I see the OPP bikes drive past my house about twice a month. They also like to park by harmony school and head out on the trail from there.

I think with the increase of patrol for the drinking and driving that a 140$ pass is worth it.

Bushy the might have a seniors discount for you???

What are the fines for being on one of these trails without a permit? ( I have yet to hear of anyone being fined on any trail at any time of the year ... any info there?). Who checks & enforces the use of the trail permits ... members of the club( & if so how would they do it?), the OPP or are they not just looking for insurance, license & alcohol infractions... their mandate is trail safelty?

Do you( and it would include Dale & myself) have multiple stickers for your ATV and Jeep as you will be in those areas with Thumper? Is there a family membership or will Dirty need to pay $140 for her Jeep too( maybe another for your Mom's Jeep). Lowrad would need 2 also. Would I be allowed 3 ( Bushwacker, Seized Nuts, King)?

If you purchase this ... do no need to buy Snowmobiling permits too or is this included .... as in are the old snowmobiling permits now renamed as these new permits?

Ah ... the old days ... beer $5.15 for 24 ( the good stuff), a mickey $2.65
TV reception used to be free but poor with few channels
All radio used to be free
Water was never for sale
No licenses were needed to drive a boat or to fish
Skidoos didn't need permits to travel anywhere
ATV's travelled any trail for fun, freely
Hydro was cheap
Gas was $.08 a litre
Doctors came to your house
Kids got the strap and FAILED
the speed limit was 60 mph an most roads but the 401 was 70 mph

Progress ... gotta luv it.

These Questions and more will be asked at the Poker Run this weekend Bushnopermit, But I can tell ya this..
No Jeeps or trucks are permitted on tracks. There is no family Membership.. this permit covers, Bicycles ,
dogsleds, 4 wheelers, horseback, xcountry skiing.. all have different fees.. and NO Snomobiles are NOT included in this Permit..
they must have the OFSC Permit.
I have emailed one of the local clubs and should have more info on fines etc soon.

piss Welcome to 2010

I am just not one to jump on the bandwagon without good cause... I know the $$$ likely go to maintaining the trails ... but what evidence have you seen outside of what the OFSC does to the groomed trails? Are they funding the addition of fence lines for farmers? Do they smooth out the trails or cut them? How do they ensure proper use of the trails?

This organization has a staff, full & part time of 84 ... drawing a salary? Are "we" paying these people to organize something for the future?

I looked at all the 31 pics ... THAT is where the $$$ should go ... nice work ... perfect "tools" for the tasks.

Question ... where is that work being done .... Cobourg area or around here too?
