Hey, I'm new here. I just bought an 04 Rubicon and I've run into a few problems, one of which being that my passenger side bottom u-joint slips freely in and out of the inner c. I've heard of maybe welding a new knuckle on or maybe getting a sleeve made...but I really have no idea, any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

the whole axle shaft? check to make sure the nut tight? if it is the axle shat should not move... axles goes through front spindle and is held by a nut and cotter pin. if you are taling about the out knuckle moving then bad ball joint.

Ball joint is bad for sure but the problem is more than that. The ball joint literally slips in and out of the inner c with ease. The hole in the inner c for the ball joint literally has been worn larger and that my friend, is my problem. I just picked up a set of moog problem solvers so we'll see what happens. I'll let you know.

The upper should be holding that in place aswell....
So I'd say the upper is gone too in order to let that lower go down that far....
Never see that before....and I've had some pretty fawked balljoints..lol

You say you bought it used? Wondering if the ball joint hasn't been replaced at one time with the wrong one. Not quite tight enough. That would cause it to fail and wear the opening.
So says LW.

And WELCOME to our world. LOL.

Hope things work out for you.
